- Ensure the PTO shaft has at least 50% spline overlap in all operating positions. Inadequate overlap causes rapid spline wear and potential shaft separation.
- Record the installation date, tractor hour meter reading, and gearbox serial number in your maintenance log for warranty and service interval tracking.
- If replacing an existing unit, drain the old oil completely, remove mounting fasteners, and carefully lower the old gearbox. Photograph the orientation and note any shim washers used.
