Gearbox for Rotary Tiller

The input stage receives rotational energy via splined coupling at standard agricultural speeds. A hardened splined input shaft meshes with the PTO driveline, supported by self-aligning ball bearings rated for continuous heavy-duty soil tillage operation.

Inside the housing, precisely meshed worm gears convert PTO high-speed input into modified speed and amplified torque for the blade rotor. The rotary tiller gearbox converts PTO rotation into high-speed blade shaft spin, cutting and mixing soil to a uniform tilth. Positioned beneath the tiller frame, it drives the L-shaped or C-shaped blades that shatter compacted earth, blend crop residues, and create a fine seedbed in a single pass. Gear tooth profiles are case-hardened to HRC 58-62 and precision-ground, achieving 96-98% mechanical efficiency.

Power exits through the output shaft connecting to the rotary tiller’s blade rotor. The output configuration (keyed, splined, flanged, or hollow bore) matches the implement’s drive requirements. Smooth power flow to the blade rotor is maintained regardless of load fluctuations during soil tillage.

The gearbox uses splash lubrication with ISO VG 220 EP. Gears distribute oil across all contact surfaces. The ADI (Austempered Ductile Iron) housing incorporates cooling ribs that dissipate heat under sustained soil tillage load. Ptfe Rotary Seals at every shaft exit prevent contamination ingress.

Richten Sie die Nebenantriebswelle an der Getriebeeingangswelle aus und schieben Sie die Gabel auf die Verzahnung, bis der Verriegelungsmechanismus einrastet. Nach den ersten 10 Betriebsstunden alle Befestigungsschrauben mit dem vorgeschriebenen Drehmoment nachziehen. Ölstand prüfen und gegebenenfalls Öl nachfüllen. Alle Dichtungen auf Undichtigkeiten untersuchen. Sicherstellen, dass der Antriebswellenschutz ordnungsgemäß wieder montiert ist. Installationsdatum und Betriebsstundenzählerstand für die zukünftige Wartungsplanung notieren.

Clean the mounting flange on the rotary tiller frame with a wire brush and solvent, removing all old sealant, rust, and debris. Inspect the mounting surface for cracks, stripped threads, or warping. Chase any damaged bolt threads with a tap. Apply a thin film of anti-seize compound to the mounting face if specified.

Carefully lift the new Rotary Tiller gearbox into position on the mounting flange, aligning all bolt holes. Insert mounting bolts hand-tight first, confirming proper alignment. Once all bolts are started, torque them in a star (cross) pattern to the value specified in the installation manual. Verify the gearbox sits flush against the frame with no gaps.

Attach the gearbox output shaft to the rotary tiller’s blade rotor drive coupling. For keyed connections, align the keyway and slide the coupling on, then secure with the retaining bolt and torque to specification. For splined outputs, apply anti-seize to the splines and verify full engagement before locking.

Entfernen Sie die Einfüllschraube und füllen Sie langsam das empfohlene Getriebeöl bis zur Markierung ein. Verwenden Sie die in der Getriebedokumentation angegebene Viskositätsklasse (üblicherweise SAE 80W-90 GL-5 oder gleichwertig). Setzen Sie die Einfüllschraube wieder ein und ziehen Sie sie handfest, anschließend mit einem Schraubenschlüssel fest. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Entlüftungskappe sauber und frei ist.

Trennen Sie den Nebenantrieb von der Getriebeeingangswelle. Stützen Sie das Getriebegewicht mit einem Wagenheber oder einer Hebebühne ab (typisches Gewicht: 15–70 kg, je nach Modell). Lösen Sie alle Befestigungsschrauben über Kreuz, um die Klemmspannung gleichmäßig zu verteilen. Senken Sie das alte Getriebe vorsichtig ab und stellen Sie es beiseite.

Wahrscheinliche Ursache: Shear bolt or overload protection has activated

Empfohlene Maßnahme: Check the overload protection device first — this is the most likely cause if the gearbox was recently subjected to a sudden overload. Replace the shear bolt or reset the slip clutch per the manual. If overload protection is intact, the gearbox has internal damage and requires professional service.

Wahrscheinliche Ursache: Abgenutzte oder narbige Zahnflanken

Empfohlene Maßnahme: Öl ablassen und auf Metallpartikel prüfen. Mit Öl der richtigen Viskositätsklasse auffüllen. Sollten die Geräusche nach dem Ölwechsel weiterhin bestehen, ist eine Überprüfung der Lager oder Getriebe erforderlich. Wenden Sie sich für Anweisungen zur Überholung an den Kundendienst.

Wahrscheinliche Ursache: Fehlausgerichtete Verzahnungen aufgrund unterschiedlicher Zapfwellenstandards

Empfohlene Maßnahme: Clean the input shaft splines with a wire brush and apply a light coat of anti-seize. Slowly rotate the PTO shaft while pushing to align the splines. If the splines will not engage, verify the spline count matches your PTO standard — 6-spline for 540 RPM, 21-spline for 1000 RPM.

Wahrscheinliche Ursache: Fehlausgerichtete Zapfwellenantriebswelle überschreitet die zulässigen Gelenkwinkel.

Empfohlene Maßnahme: First check all mounting bolt torques — vibration frequently loosens fasteners, which then amplifies the vibration. Next, inspect the PTO driveline U-joints for wear or binding. Verify driveline angles are within specification. Finally, check the output coupling to the blade rotor for wear or damage.

Wahrscheinliche Ursache: Abgenutzte Lippendichtungen oder beschädigte Dichtungsbohrung

Empfohlene Maßnahme: Prüfen und korrigieren Sie zunächst den Ölstand – zu viel Öl ist eine überraschend häufige Ursache für Undichtigkeiten an den Dichtungen. Reinigen oder ersetzen Sie den Entlüftungsdeckel. Ist der Ölstand korrekt und die Entlüftung frei, ist die Dichtung verschlissen und sollte mit unserem Dichtungssatz ausgetauscht werden.
